Make it Unique, Content the key for Search Engine Rankings – SEO
Content is always the king to make your site appear in SERPs. Google and most Search Engines love content that are fresh and unique to the internet. Search Engines still lacks quality content for various searches happening, so Search Engines always looks for some unique fresh content to throw up when searched for the particular keywords.
If you are running a portal for Business say a News portal or any Information portal, it becomes very difficult to provide the content unique and fresh to the internet as you always rely on Third party news agencies which supply the news. The ultimate problem is almost all the News & Information portals get the content from the top news providers, so the same content floods across different portals. This really makes news articles from new Portals or Portals without proper architecture almost out of the SERPs.
How can we handle such Situation???
For this we can’t write every story fresh and unique which will be really a time consuming and a tedious task for the Editors. The simple solution will be don’t create unique content atleast make the content look like unique for Search Engines. Edit the Article title and give a fresh new title this will solve fifty percent of your problem. Change the Image alt to suit for your title. It would be better to Edit atleast 100 + words of your article to make that look fresh, as Google treats this as a different article atleast if there is 100 words change (I am quoting this is out of my personal experience).
With this you can relax a bit, these changes will tend Google to atleast look at your website without unique content.

Managing www.xxx.com and xxx.com – Domain name Vs the Universal Sub Domain
Last week one of my friend was asking me about managing www.xxx.com and xxx.com, Few days back one of my blog follower raised the same question through chat, so i felt like answering the question through this blog post.
For eg: xxx.com is the domain name and www.xxx.com is the Universal subdomain for xxx.com. www was used by domains to connect the domian name to the world wide internet sphere. Now with the advancements in internet technologies www is not required. But as a practice we still us the domain name as well as the universal subdomain. So it is clear that for every website we create we obviously get two URLs generated (xxx and www.xxx).
Search Engines treat www.xxx.com and xxx.com as two different indiviual websites mostly with the same content. Usually Search Engines treat these two URLs with same content as duplicate content and it is not advisable too. So i its always good to redirect www.xxx.com to xxx.com because xxx.com will be helpful in building Sub domian architecture ie., we can build the site as news.xxx.com or movies.xxx.com

How to manage your Business Reputation Online???

Online Reputation Management
Internet has become an option of selling your products and services across the globe in a virtual format by not even showing your real company identity. Your Online Customers usually don’t see the real face or the value of the company, they just see the promotional E-Mails and offer mails you sent through the E-Mail Marketing Campaigns or the Advertisements you give in the fellow websites.
People prefer to buy only from the brand they know and company they trust. Since the Web limits us only to the written words about the company, Products and its services, the written words become the almighty powerful to determine the Company’s Brand / Reputation in the Online Sphere. It’s clear that the words we use may boost the brands reputation or just spoil and tear the brand. Without a voice for our customers and prospects to hear, or a face to show expression, how can we make sure that what we intend to say is what is heard?
-
Treat you as a Customer first: First thing we can do is to mark all marketing email to us first. If possible, look at email sales letters in several email programs.
-
Link Check:Check if the order / submit link is working; the worst thing that can happen in a Marketing mailer is the Order link not working. This will spoil the reputation of the brand. Check if all the links in the mailer is opening to appropriate landing pages.
-
Avoid Misspellings: Use your spell checker but don’t trust it completely. No spell checker I know will pick up the mistake when you innocently type “there” instead of “their”, here and hear etc.,
-
Avoid using slang. Avoid using Slang’s and colloquial languages in the online sphere as Internet is all about global. Slang is often specific to one country, or even a region of a country, which means your overseas readers won’t understand the point you are making.
-
Punctuations & Case Sensitivity: Many emails only contain words in lowercase letters. “Always remember that all caps are universally understood as shouting”. Use bold or italic for emphasis instead.
In business communications, we must sound our best to maintain the reputation of the brand, especially in the online sphere where the words only speak. Never lose a chance to polish up your email and build a great reputation for your brand.

Google Analytics to track clicks through Google Adsense

Google Analytics to track clicks through Google Adsense
There’s some good news for all the bloggers who use Adsense for monetizing their content. Google Analytics is about to launch add on feature to track the clicks happening from Google Adsense account for your website. So we can soon be able to track visitor clicks on AdSense ads using Google Analytics reports.
Adsense performance on every single page of the website can be effectively measured by using the new Analytics Report.
Report includes a summary of AdSense related data that you’ll be able to track via Google Analytics:
1. The number of times AdSense ads were clicked on any given web page.
2. AdSense revenue generated per page for clicks mentioned in #1.
3. You’ll also know the CTR and CPM for all web pages – no need to create individual URL channels in your AdSense dashboard.
4. “Top AdSense Referrers” – this is the most interesting report as it helps you know about revenue made per referring websites.
Let’s take an example. Assume two sites – sify.com and sulekha.com – have linked to a page on your website and are sending some referral traffic. Now Analytics will tell you exactly how much AdSense revenue you are making through traffic from each of these sites. This report has enormous potential as it lends a “measurable” value to each incoming link.

Reputation Management the greatest concern in SMM
Negative feedbacks is one of the most dreadful threat in Social Media Marketing. Social Media Networking Websites are prone to create negative content for your Products and Services because of the propensity to draw negative feedback.
Effective Strategies to curtail the Negative impacts from SMM is absolutely critical. Strategies are related to how you should respond to negative comments and how to avoid it in the first place or preventing it from getting out of hand in the future.
The first thing you need to realize is that when you enter a social media network, you are seeking out your target audience.
Improper Marketing Pitch and Marketing to networkers who are not interested in your Products and Services are the starting point for Negative wave in SMM. Think of yourself in the other persons shoe: Wouldn’t you be annoyed if you were holding a conversation and someone jumped in with some unrelated sales pitch right in the middle of your discussion? Many users of social media sites see marketing on these sites as doing exactly this.
Keything you have to keep in mind beofre starting an SMM campaign is make sure that you are getting the right information to the right targetted audiance so that you do not upset the users on the Social Networking site.
When you decide to enter this social media sphere, there is little doubt that you are going to generate negative feedback.
Even if you are following good marketing strategies, there is going to be someone who is not liking your offerings. Go ahead, accept it now, and think how best you can use it.
But make sure they do not destroy your reputation, but on the other, you don’t need to overreact. A negative comment can still provide impetus for meaningful conversation that can work in your favor. There is no use in responding vehemently against someone who simply says they disagree with you or don’t like your product.
While you do not want to invite negative comments, they can be useful and at least provide you with insight concerning an opposing position on whatever it is you support.
Do not be afraid to enter this sphere of marketing, just make sure that you are following a good plan of action and are not inundating uninterested people with worthless information. SMM will be a great tool which can build a brand at times it can become a dreadful weapon which can axe your brand. The result is based on the approach you make.

Social Media Marketing Vs Search Engine Optimization
Lot of people use SEO techniques more to bring in traffic to their websites, most webmasters often miss Social Media Marketing the most interesting and effective means of driving quality traffic to their sites. The most common reasons from most the webmasters to rely on SEO than SMM is often is that SMM is too time consuming, difficult to measure and doesn’t deliver targeted traffic.
But the real fact is Social Media Marketing is equally effective like Search Engine Marketing. SMM techniques provides ample results when it is done by the way it should be done:
Time: it can all be relative. You can have someone spend hours answering queries or use the time to create a blog or faq page. Blogs are a valuable part of both search engine marketing and social marketing. Time spent on social sites need not be lengthy. Social marketing doesn’t require long hours, it requires a plan and self control.
Measurable: most business owners have a need to measure and quantify everything. When there is a cost involved, this is understandable, and time is money. The investment in a blog can be measured particularly if the right analytics are used. Those same analytics can tell you how much traffic is coming from social media sites. To say that social marketing cannot be measured is really not true.
Traffic: Search engine marketing can deliver targeted traffic. If you have a good social marketing strategy then the traffic received can be more closely targeted and often with higher conversion rates.
Social marketing outcomes can be better than search engine marketing. There are now web site owners that concentrate more on the social marketing aspect than on their search engine marketing. The truth is, both can be undertaken with great effect.
